Ora Pub

Ora Pub has been sitting here in Bilhari for a while now. We open the doors every day in Jabalpur and just get things moving. It’s not a fancy place, really. We spend the morning checking the fridge and making sure the tables aren't sticky from the night before. People come in after work, mostly folks from around the 482020 area, looking to sit down for a bit. The lights are usually dim because that’s how people like it when they want to forget about their boss for an hour. Sometimes the music is a little loud, or maybe the fan squeaks, but we just live with it. We don't have some big corporate manual on how to talk to people. We just say hello and get them what they need. The floors get scuffed up by the end of the week, so Saturday mornings involve a lot of scrubbing. It’s hard work running a spot like this in Bilhari, but it’s what we do. We see the same faces mostly. Sometimes a new person wanders in and looks around like they’re lost, but they usually find a stool and settle in. We keep the snacks simple and the drinks cold. There’s no dress code or anything like that. Just come as you are after your shift. We’re right here on the main stretch, and if you live around here, you’ve probably walked past us a hundred times already.
