New Era Boutique & Parlour

We have our shop, New Era Boutique & Parlour, at Hathital Colony in Jabalpur. It is shop number 3, right near the Gurudwara. We decided to do both things—clothes and beauty—because many women in this area like to get their outfits sorted and their hair done in one single place. It saves them a lot of time and traveling across the city. On one side of the shop, we have the boutique part where we do stitching, blouse cutting, and some alterations. On the other side is the parlour area for threading, hair cuts, and basic facials. It’s a bit cramped sometimes with the sewing machines humming and the parlour chairs all in one shop, but we have managed to make it work well over the years. The neighborhood is mostly families, so we get to know our customers quite well. We hear a lot of stories and local gossip while we are working on a dress or doing someone's hair. The sound of the prayers from the Gurudwara is quite peaceful in the mornings. We are not a high-end fashion house or a luxury spa. We are just a local shop providing basic services to the ladies of Hathital Colony. Sometimes we get very busy before festivals like Diwali or during the wedding months when everyone wants new clothes and a facial. We try to keep up with the work, but since it's a small team, we ask people to be patient. The shop is simple with white walls.
