Maikalsuta Farmer Producer Companylimited

Out here in Kantora, which is under Tehsil Patan in the Jabalpur area, we started this Maikalsuta group. It’s basically just a bunch of us who grow things and decided it was better to be a company on paper. We are at house number 2. It’s easy to find if you know the district. Life in Jabalpur is okay, but here in the village, it’s all about the soil. We don't have some big corporate plan. We just want to make sure the stuff we grow actually gets sold without too much trouble. Sometimes we meet up and it gets loud because everyone has a different idea about the crops. That’s normal for a producer company like ours. We deal with the seeds and the local markets mostly. The weather is always a topic. Last year was a bit dry, so we had to figure that out together. It’s a lot of work. We aren't trying to be something we're not. We are just farmers who live in Kantora and want to keep our families going. There’s a lot of walking back and forth to the fields. If someone has a question, they just walk up to the door. We don't use much technology, just the basics to keep the government happy with our filings. It’s a slow life but it’s ours. We just keep at it and hope for the best.
