Madhav General Store

Madhav General Store is situated in the Shanti Nagar area of Jabalpur, specifically in Ambalika Parisa. It’s a quiet residential part of the city, which suits the way we run things. I usually open the shop in the morning after my tea and stay there until late in the evening. Jabalpur is a nice place to live, and Shanti Nagar feels like a proper community. My shop isn’t fancy at all; it’s just a room filled with shelves and cupboards holding the things people use every day. I stock everything from toothbrushes to cooking ingredients. Most of the people who come here are my neighbors, so we end up talking about local news or the weather while I’m bagging their items. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use a torch to find things in the back, but that’s just how it is sometimes. I do my own cleaning and inventory, so I know exactly what’s in stock and what needs to be ordered. It’s a lot of small tasks that fill up the day. I don’t have any assistants, so if I need to step out, I just pull the shutter halfway down for a few minutes. It’s a simple life, and the shop keeps me connected to everyone around here. We just provide the basics and keep the place running as well as we can.
