Kumud General Store

Kumud General Store is located on the Main Road in Alok Nagar, Jabalpur. We are right near Dhani Ki Kutiya, so people use that as a landmark to find us. It’s a regular shop where we keep all the basic items that a family needs for their home. We stock everything from washing powder and soaps to cooking oils and spices. The 482004 area is our home, and we have been here for a good amount of time. The road outside can get very noisy with all the trucks and cars passing by, but that's just how it is in Adhartal. We don't have fancy glass displays or air conditioning inside. It’s just a simple counter and wooden shelves that reach all the way to the ceiling. I usually have to use a small stool to reach the things kept on the top. My family and I spend our whole day here. We’ve gotten to know the regulars so well that we know what they want as soon as they walk in. It’s a good life, even if it’s the same routine every day. We don’t worry about marketing or trying to compete with big stores. We just focus on keeping the shelves full for the local people who depend on us. During the festivals, it gets extra busy with people buying items for their celebrations. We just try to serve everyone as fast as we can so they can get back to their chores.
