Our workshop is located at HIG A/5, right near Kerala Bhawan. If you are familiar with this part of town, you know it stays fairly busy throughout the week. Being so close to the Bhawan means there is always some kind of activity happening nearby, which definitely keeps our days from being boring. We have been operating out of this specific space for a decent stretch of time now. The building itself is a bit on the older side, but it serves our needs well enough. Inside, it is mostly tools and various metal parts scattered across the workbenches. It isn't the cleanest place you will ever step into because the kind of engineering work we do is naturally a bit messy. There is usually a thin layer of grease on the floor and that distinct smell of machine oil in the air. We generally start work around nine in the morning. The first task is always checking what needs to be finished from the previous day’s list. The lighting in the back of the shop is not the best, so we end up using a few extra portable lamps when we are working on the smaller, more detailed parts. Neighbors sometimes pop their heads in just to say hello while we are busy with a machine. We don't mind the noise, but the grinding sounds can get quite loud in the middle of the afternoon. It is a small operation, just a few of us.
