Durgesh Kirana Stores

My name is Durgesh and I run Durgesh Kirana Stores here in the Garha area of Jabalpur. We are situated on the Main Road, not too far from the way down to Gwarighat. It's a busy spot, especially during the festival seasons when people are heading toward the river. My shop is where people come for their regular kitchen needs, like spices, rice, and different types of lentils. It’s a typical small-town store where everything is within reach if you know where to look. I spend most of my day behind the wooden counter, weighing out items or packing things for the regulars. Sometimes the kids from the school nearby come in for candies or chips, and that keeps things lively. I try to keep everything fresh, especially the loose grains. It gets a bit dusty being right on the main road, so I’m always wiping down the glass jars. We don't really do much advertising; people just know we're here. If someone needs something specific and I don't have it, I tell them to come back in two days. It’s a humble place, and we like it that way. No fancy lights or big signs, just a dependable shop for the families living around Garha. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years, but the shop stays pretty much the same. I just hope to keep serving the community for more years to come. It’s good to be here.
