I’ve been working out of this space at 1101, Yadav Colony for a good while now. Jabalpur is home, and being on Garha Road feels right because it’s a part of town that everyone knows. The clinic is easy to spot if you’re looking for it in the Tehseel area. It isn't a massive corporate hospital with glass walls; it's just a regular place where I see my patients. Most mornings, I arrive and check the list for the day while the staff gets the rooms ready. The building has its quirks, like the way the front door sometimes sticks when it’s raining hard during the monsoon. Yadav Colony is a decent neighborhood, and we get a lot of local residents walking over instead of taking a rickshaw. I spend most of my day sitting in my chair, listening to people talk about their health. Some days are longer than others, especially when the waiting room gets packed. We try to keep things organized, but sometimes things get backed up and people have to wait. That’s just how it goes when you’re dealing with health stuff. People come in worried, and I do what I can to help them out. It’s a quiet routine for the most part. We have a few chairs for people to sit in while they wait, and there is usually an old newspaper or two lying around. I don't think much about being fancy, I just want to work.
