Chayanika General Stores

We are located right on Station Road here in Madan Mahal, which is a pretty busy part of Jabalpur. My family has been running Chayanika General Stores for a good while now. The shop isn't anything special to look at from the outside, just a regular storefront with shutters and some stacks of crates. Inside, we have packed the shelves with just about everything a household might need during the week. You’ll find things like detergent, pulses, biscuits, and those small items that people realize they forgot at the last minute. The ceiling fan hums all day, and there is usually a bit of dust because of the traffic coming from the station nearby. We start our day early, sweeping the front and arranging the new stock that came in the night before. Sometimes the deliveries are late, which can be a bit of a headache, but we manage. Most of our customers are folks who live right around the corner or people catching a train who need a quick bottle of water or some snacks. It gets quite loud outside with the rickshaws and the buses, but inside it’s just the usual business of weighing things out and writing in our ledger. We don't have fancy displays or air conditioning, just a counter and plenty of stuff to sell. It’s a simple life running a shop in this part of Jabalpur, and we are just here every day from morning until late evening.
