Bombay Pop Art

You can find us over in Prem Nagar, right opposite the Tata Comercial building in Madan Mahal. The shop isn’t very big, but it is filled with all sorts of things we are working on. We do art stuff here in Jabalpur, mostly focusing on things that people want for their walls or for gifts. It gets a bit cluttered with paint, frames, and paper everywhere. Sometimes we are busy with a brush and other times we are just trying to figure out how to mount a piece properly. It’s not a sterile gallery or anything like that; it’s more of a workshop where things actually get made. People wander in from the street to see what’s new or to ask if we can do something specific for them. The light in the morning is pretty good for working, but later on, we rely on the overhead bulbs. We aren't always super quick because some things just take time to dry or to get right. It’s a lot of manual work, getting our fingers stained and making sure the edges are straight. We’ve been here for a while and the locals know the spot. We don't really do much advertising, word of mouth usually brings people to our door. It’s a nice way to spend the day, surrounded by colors and different projects. Sometimes we even have some music playing while we work to keep the energy up and the creativity flowing throughout the afternoon. It is just us and our art.
