Bhawani Store

Bhawani Store is tucked away in the Madan Mahal area of Jabalpur, specifically on Station Road. It is a small place, but we try to fit as much as we can onto the shelves because you never know what someone might ask for. We have been in this spot for years, watching the street change as more buildings went up and the traffic got heavier. The shop smells like a mix of spices, soap, and the cardboard boxes that everything comes in. My brother and I usually take turns behind the counter. We don't have any big signs or advertisements; people just know we are here. Every morning, we unlock the heavy shutters and start moving the bags of flour and sugar so people can see what’s available. The noise from the station road is constant, especially in the afternoons when the schools let out and the commuters are heading home. Sometimes it’s hard to hear what a customer is asking for over the sound of the horns outside. We keep a lot of regular items like tea leaves, cooking oil, and snacks for the kids. It is a bit cramped inside, and sometimes we lose track of where we put the smaller things, but we eventually find them. It is just a local shop for the neighborhood people to get their daily supplies without having to go all the way to a big market. We are just part of the local scenery here.
