Anshuiya Social Welfare Foundation

Our foundation is located on Ukhari Road in Jabalpur. The address is Plot No. 03, right in the 190/1 area. Jabalpur has its own rhythm, and being on Ukhari Road means we are right in the middle of all the noise. Anshuiya Social Welfare Foundation started because a few of us wanted to do something useful with our time. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It has four walls, some fans that click when they are on high, and a lot of documents. We spend a lot of time talking to people who walk in off the street. Some days are very quiet and we just catch up on filing. Other days, it feels like the phone never stops ringing and we get behind. We don't have a professional spokesperson or anyone like that. If you call, you just get whoever is closest to the phone at the time. We try to help out where we can, but we are limited by what we have. It is an honest way to work. We know the people at the local shops and they know us by our first names. Sometimes we have tea brought over from the stall at the corner. It makes the long afternoons go by a bit faster. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just doing our bit here in Jabalpur. It is a lot of small tasks that eventually add up to something.
