Nigudkar Food Products

Nigudkar Food Products is located in Nigadi village, right here in the Mandangad taluka of Ratnagiri. We are pretty close to the Bank of India branch, which is how most people find us. This is a family-run operation. We mostly work with the fruit that grows around this part of Maharashtra. Life in the village is slow, and our work follows the seasons. When it’s mango season, everyone is working double shifts. When things are quiet, we catch up on maintenance and cleaning the jars. Our facility is just a large room at the back of our house that we converted years ago. It’s not a high-tech factory. We use traditional methods because that’s what we know how to do. Sometimes the rain in Ratnagiri gets so heavy we have to stop work for a day or two. The roads get muddy, and transport becomes a headache. My sons help with the packing and the heavy lifting. We sell mostly to the local markets and some shops in the nearby towns. We don’t have a fancy website or a sales department. People just know our name in the district. We’ve been making these products for a long time now. It’s just what our family does. It’s hard work, especially in the heat, but it’s our own thing and we’re proud of that. We try to keep things honest and simple, just like the village itself.
