Olive Ladies Beauty Clinic (A/C) & Tailoring Shop

Our place is at Anamala Junction. It is a bit unique because we do two things at once. We have the beauty clinic and then we have the tailoring shop right here too. It makes sense because a lot of ladies like to get their clothes fixed or a new suit made and then get their hair or skin done at the same time. We have air conditioning, which is a big relief when the weather gets hot at the junction. You can usually hear the sound of the sewing machines in the background while someone is getting a facial. It’s a busy little shop. We spend our days measuring fabric, cutting cloth, and also doing threading or waxings. It’s a lot of manual work and we stay on our feet most of the day. The ladies from around the junction come in to gossip and get their things done. We’ve been here for a while and we know most of our customers by name. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure the clothes fit right and people feel okay when they leave. Sometimes we are buried in piles of silk and cotton, and other times we are busy with the beauty side of things. It’s a practical setup that works for the neighborhood. We just keep our heads down and keep working until it’s time to close up the shop. It is just a regular local business.
