Vidyarathi Stores

Vidyarathi Stores is located in Payal Plaza, right at the Bhawarkua crossing in Indore. If you know Indore, you know how busy Bhawar Kuan gets with all the students and the traffic. Being in 452001, we see a lot of young people every single day. Most of them are looking for pens, notebooks, or getting some papers copied. The store is usually a bit chaotic because there is always someone looking for a specific book or a certain kind of folder. I try to keep things organized, but in such a small space in Payal Plaza, it is hard. The shelves are packed with stationery and some basic snacks too, because students are always hungry. I have been sitting at this counter for years, watching the crowds go by outside. The noise of the buses and the bikes at the crossing never really stops until very late at night. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to use a small battery light to keep going. It is a very lived-in space, with old posters on the walls and stacks of paper everywhere. We don't do anything special, just provide the things that the college kids and locals need for their daily work. It is a bit of a squeeze inside when the morning rush happens, but we managed to make it work for a long time. People just know us as the place to get their study supplies without any fuss.
