If you know where Body Temple Gym is in Khatiwala Tank, then you’ve probably seen Thakur Caterers right across at number 624. We've been here a long time. It started out as just a small family thing, mostly just me and my brothers working in a cramped space. We didn't have much equipment back then, just a few big pans and a lot of energy to get things done. Now we’ve got a bit more, but the way we work hasn’t changed much at all. We wake up early, usually around four or five, to get the fresh stuff from the market before the sun gets too high. I like picking the vegetables myself because you can't trust just anyone to bring the good stuff to your door. The kitchen gets hot, really hot, during the summer months but we're used to it by now. People in Khatiwala Tank know they can just walk in and talk to us whenever the door is open. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy website to book things. You just come by, tell us what you need for your function, and we write it down in the big ledger. It’s worked for us for years, so why change it? Sometimes things get a bit chaotic when we have a big order, but we always manage to get the food delivered. It’s just about working hard and making sure the taste is right for the people eating.
