We are located at 315 in Transport Nagar, which is exactly the kind of place you’d expect for a business like ours. There is dust everywhere and the sound of heavy trucks idling or reversing is pretty much the soundtrack to our day. Dealing with iron and steel means things are heavy and usually a bit dirty, so we don't worry about keeping the office floor sparkling clean. It’s a practical space. We have some basic desks and a place for the drivers to wait while paperwork gets sorted out. Most of the time, we are just managing inventory and making sure the right loads are going out on the right trucks. It’s not the kind of job where you wear a suit. We’re usually in boots and practical clothes because you never know when you’ll need to step out into the yard. Transport Nagar is a rough-and-ready part of town, but it’s where all the action is for logistics. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people on our block. The days start early when the first trucks arrive and usually end when the sun goes down and the last gate is locked. We don't have a lot of time for formalities. We just check the weights, sign the papers, and keep the steel moving. It's hard work and it gets hot out there, but that’s the business we are in.
