Standard Manufacturing Co.

Standard Manufacturing Co. is tucked away in the Pologround Industrial Estate at G-6/A. It’s a busy area with a lot of trucks and workers moving around. We’ve been here for a good number of years. Our building is a basic industrial unit. We make various things here, depending on what our customers ask for. It’s a lot of repetition, but that’s the nature of manufacturing. The machines run most of the day. We try to keep things organized, but in a factory, things tend to get a bit messy. We’ve seen the Pologround area change quite a bit over the years. More businesses have moved in, and the roads have seen better days. Our team is just a handful of local people who know how to run the equipment. We don't do much advertising. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for a long time. It’s a steady pace. We like being in this part of town because it’s easy for deliveries. Inside G-6/A, it smells like oil and metal, which is pretty much what you’d expect. We aren't a high-tech corporate office. We’re just a manufacturing shop trying to put out good work. There’s always something to fix or a machine to oil. We just take it one day at a time here. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we do. We usually start early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. By the time the afternoon rolls around, we are ready to head home.
