Shri Sidhi Vinayak Caterers

Shri Sidhi Vinayak Caterers is based at 99, Juni Kasera Bakhal, which is a very old and traditional part of the city. The lanes here are narrow and filled with the history of Indore Ho. Working out of this location means we are very close to our neighbors. You can often hear children playing or people arguing over prices at the nearby stalls while we are busy in the kitchen. Our space at number 99 is mostly taken up by the large refrigeration units and the massive iron stoves we use. It is a bit of a maze inside with all the stacks of plates and spoons. We try to keep things as tidy as possible, but in a catering business, there is always something that needs washing or moving. The air inside always smells like a mix of roasted cumin and fresh coriander. We don't really have a lobby for customers; people usually just walk right into the prep area to talk to us. It makes the whole thing feel very personal and local. We handle a lot of the work ourselves, from picking out the best lentils at the market to supervising the final packing. It is a tiring job that leaves your back aching, but we have been doing it this way for a long time. The neighborhood knows us well, and we are just a part of the daily life in the Bakhal.
