Shree Nath Store

Living and working on M G Road in Indore is never quiet. Our shop at 408 is right in the middle of all the traffic and the people walking by. I opened up this morning and realized we were almost out of washing powder, so I spent the first hour on the phone with the supplier. That is how most days go here. It is a mix of checking what we have and making sure the customers find what they are looking for. We have everything from toothpaste to snacks and stationary items. The shelves are a bit old and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but they hold everything up just fine. Indore gets quite dusty, so I have to wipe down the jars every couple of days or they look gray. I usually eat my lunch sitting on a stool in the back while watching the street. It is interesting to see the city move past the door. We have regulars who have been coming here since they were kids, and now they bring their own children in for a chocolate or a cold drink. It is not a complicated business, just a lot of small tasks that add up. We don't try to be anything other than a reliable corner store where you can grab the basics on your way home.
