Sevalaya Hospital

Our hospital, Sevalaya Hospital, is located at number 8 Chhatribaug. It is a fairly quiet part of town compared to the main roads. We have a decent-sized building with a small yard in the front where a few plants grow. They don't always look great, but we try to water them when we remember. The inside of the hospital is pretty standard. We have some benches in the lobby and a big clock on the wall that ticks quite loudly. You can hear it throughout the whole waiting area. We have been working here for years and we know the routine like the back of our hands. We start early in the morning by opening the windows to let some fresh air in. The rooms are basic but clean. We don't have any of those fancy coffee machines or televisions for the patients. People usually just sit and talk to each other while they wait. It has a very local feel to it. Most of the staff lives within walking distance, so we are all neighbors in a way. If someone needs something, we just figure it out. We don't have a big corporate office telling us what to do. We just run the place the way it has always been run. It is honest work and it keeps us busy. We like being part of the Chhatribaug community. There is always someone dropping by to say hello or ask a quick question even if they aren't a patient.
