Rk Nursery

Rk Nursery is located at Jhalaria Square. If you are looking for us, we are right in front of Treasure City and behind Labhganga Garden. It’s a green spot in the middle of a busy area. We spend all day with our hands in the dirt. There are rows of plants in black plastic bags and pots everywhere you look. Some are for flowers, others are small trees for shade. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s mostly just outdoor space with some shade cloth to keep the sun from burning the younger leaves. Watering takes up a huge part of our morning. If we miss a day, especially in the heat, the plants start to droop. I spend a lot of time explaining how much water a specific plant needs to people who stop by. We get all kinds of visitors, from people looking for one small rose to those wanting to fill a whole garden. The Treasure City building is a big landmark, so people usually find us pretty easily. It’s dusty work, and my clothes are always covered in soil by the end of the day. We don't use a lot of chemical stuff, mostly just regular compost we mix ourselves. It’s peaceful being around the plants, even when the traffic at Jhalaria Square gets loud. We just keep planting seeds and waiting for things to grow. It’s a slow business, but we like it. The smell of wet earth is the best part of the day, really.
