Phoolwari

Phoolwari is our little spot at 6/3, South Harsiddhi. It is a simple place where we spend most of our time dealing with plants and everything that goes with them. We don't have a big corporate structure or a bunch of managers. It is just a few of us who know our way around a garden. The South Harsiddhi area has a nice feel to it, and we have been here long enough that the neighbors all know us. Our days usually start pretty early because that’s when the plants need the most attention. We spend a lot of time with dirt under our fingernails and water on our boots. It isn't a clean, air-conditioned office job. We have pots and bags of soil stacked up in the corners. People come in looking for something green for their homes, and we just talk to them like normal people. We don't use any sales tactics or try to push things people don't need. If a plant isn't doing well, we tell them. It’s an honest way to make a living. The shop isn't very large, so it can feel a bit crowded when we get a new delivery of flowers or shrubs. We don't have a website that looks like a magazine. We just have our plants and our space in Harsiddhi. It’s a lot of hard work, but we like being outdoors and working with our hands.
