Pal Kirana Store

Pal Kirana Store is tucked away at number 65 in Kandhari Nagar. We are pretty close to Bengali Square here in Indore, so there’s always some noise from the main road. It’s a small shop, mostly filled with sacks of rice, pulses, and the usual household things like soap and matches. My family has been looking after this place for a bit. It’s not a place with air conditioning or sliding glass doors. Just a regular counter and shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. You have to ask for some things because they’re tucked behind other stuff. We try to keep the 452001 area supplied with their monthly rations. Sometimes the delivery truck blocks the narrow lane for a minute, but the neighbors are used to it. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just come in when they realize they forgot to buy sugar or salt for dinner. We see kids coming in after school for a small packet of biscuits or some candy. It feels good to be part of the community here. The shop can get a bit dusty with the windows open, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We stay open late enough for the office workers coming home. It’s a simple life, running a grocery store. We just try to make sure we have the basics so nobody has to go too far to find what they need for a meal.
