We spend most of our time here at 26/3 in New Palasia. It is a busy part of Indore, and our building at Mimani Wires Pvt. Ltd. stays pretty loud throughout the day. People often ask what it’s like working with wire all the time. Honestly, it is just a lot of metal and heavy spools. We have machines running from early morning, and there is always a layer of fine dust on the windows. Sometimes the trucks get stuck in the narrow lane outside when they come to pick up the coils. It makes the neighbors a bit grumpy, but that is how it goes in this part of town. Our office isn’t anything fancy. It has some old desks and a few chairs that have seen better days. We drink a lot of tea while checking the gauges on the drawing machines. The guys on the floor know exactly how the tension should feel just by looking at the wire as it moves. It isn’t some high-tech lab; it’s a place where we get our hands dirty. We’ve been at this for a while now. Some days are slow when a machine breaks down and we have to wait for parts, but usually, it is just the steady hum of the motors. We don’t really have big meetings or presentations. We just look at the orders, set the machines, and make sure the bundles are tied right before they go out. That is our day.
