We’re located at Plot No-5 in Scheme No 97, Slice-6, right along A B Road in Indore. It’s a growing area and we’ve seen a lot of changes around here recently. Our office is a straightforward place where we handle the financial stuff for our Nidhi members. We aren't like those big glass-building banks. We have a simple room with some chairs for people to wait and a counter where we do the transactions. Most of our work involves helping people set up small savings plans. We also help members get loans when they have a need for a bit of extra capital. It is all kept within the group. We spend our days typing up forms and checking the accounts. It can be a bit tedious but it is what we do. The A B Road area is always busy, so there is a lot of noise from the cars, but we get used to it. We know the people who live nearby and they know where to find us if they need to deposit some cash or check their balance. We don't put on any airs. We just sit at our desks and get through the paperwork. It is a local business run by local people who understand how things work in Indore. We just keep our heads down and focus on the daily entries. Sometimes we stay late to finish the work, but that is part of the job.
