I've been at Shop No. G-1 in Maa Laxmi Market for a good while now. It is located right in Bhawanipur Colony, specifically at 8-A, which is pretty easy to find if you know the Annapurna area. We are directly opposite Choithram Clinic on Annapurna Road. It's a busy street most days with a lot of traffic and people heading to the clinic or the nearby shops. The shop itself is small but we pack it with all sorts of electrical things and radios. Most mornings start with dusting the shelves and making sure everything is where it should be. The market has a specific feel to it, especially when the other shopkeepers arrive and start opening their shutters. You hear the same sounds every day. People come in looking for small parts, maybe a wire or a specific type of bulb that they can't find elsewhere. Sometimes they bring in old radios that haven't worked in years. We spend a lot of time looking at circuits and testing connections. It isn't a fancy place, just a normal local shop with a counter and some stools for when friends drop by to chat. The weather gets hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fan running high. Life here is simple. We see the same faces every week and know most of the people living around Annapurna. It’s a good spot to be. We just do our work and go home when the sun sets.
