If you look for us in Vijay Nagar, we are on Street No 54. It’s pretty easy to find since Big Cinemas is right there, which helps when we try to tell people where to meet us for their first lesson. J K Car Driving School started because there were so many people in Indore who wanted to learn but were too nervous to get behind the wheel. We use a few different cars that have seen better days, but they work fine for learning. The clutch on the older sedan is a bit stiff, but that actually helps students learn how to feel the engine properly. We spend a lot of time sitting in the passenger seat, watching the mirrors and making sure nobody hits the curb. It gets tiring being on the road all day, especially with the Indore heat and the way some people drive around here. We usually meet at the office first to go over the basic rules before we even start the engine. There is a small desk where we keep all the learner permits and the schedule, which is mostly just scribbles in a notebook. Sometimes we run a bit late if a student is struggling with parallel parking or if the traffic near the cinema is really bad. It’s not a glamorous job, just a lot of patience and repeating the same instructions until it finally clicks for them.
