Our shop is at 13/2, Chhoti Gwal Toli, right in Shop No. 13 of Ashian Tower. It is a busy spot because we are right near the Sarwate Bus Stand. You can always hear the buses pulling in and out and people shouting for passengers. Index Engineering Company has been here for quite some time now. Our shop is filled with all sorts of engineering parts and tools. It’s not a very big space, but we make the most of it. My desk is usually buried under a pile of catalogs and old invoices that I need to sort through eventually. We get a lot of walk-in customers who just hopped off a bus and need a specific part for a machine back home. The air here is often a bit dusty because of the construction nearby and the constant traffic. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. It is just a regular engineering shop where we do our work. Sometimes the neighbors from other shops come by to borrow a tool or just to chat for a minute. We have a small fan that rattles in the corner, but it helps when the weather gets humid. We know most of the regulars by their first names. It is a straightforward business, and we don't try to make it seem like something it isn't. We just open up in the morning, help whoever comes in, and head home when the sun goes down.
