H.Pahlani Textile

H.Pahlani Textile is located in Shop No. 288 inside Darmani Bhawan. We are right in the middle of the Mt Cloth Market, which is always a chaotic place to be. If you know Rajwada, you know how busy this whole area gets. Every morning, the narrow lanes fill up with carts and people carrying huge bundles of fabric on their heads. Our shop is small, and we have rolls of cloth stacked from the floor all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the walls are made of cotton and silk. We have been part of this market for a long time. It gets very hot in the afternoons, especially when the market is crowded with buyers from all over. We usually have a fan going, but it just moves the warm air around. My father used to run things, and now I am here most days doing the same. We don’t have fancy computers to track everything; we still write a lot of things down in our ledger books. You have to be careful walking through the shop so you don't trip over a stray roll of denim or lace. Dealing with the wholesalers and the walk-in customers takes up all our time. By the time we pull the shutters down at night, our backs are usually pretty tired from hauling the heavy materials around.
