Gulzar Clinic

Our clinic is at 167 Khatiwala Tank, right where the Main Road meets Manik Bag Road. It’s a busy intersection, so there is always a lot of movement outside. The building we are in is called Breeze, though it doesn't always feel very breezy inside during the summer months. We have been here for a good number of years. The clinic itself is quite small and the layout is a bit awkward, but we have made it work for us. We handle all sorts of basic medical problems. Most of the people who come in live in the Khatiwala Tank area. We don't have a big sign with lights, just a simple board that tells people who we are. The waiting area is often cramped, especially in the evenings when everyone gets off work. We don't have a lot of fancy technology. We use a stethoscope and a thermometer more than anything else. The floor is made of old stone and the ceiling fan makes a clicking sound, but it keeps the air moving. We know the local shopkeepers and often chat with them during our breaks. It is a very down-to-earth place. We don’t try to pretend to be a big fancy hospital. We are just a local clinic where you can get a quick check-up without any fuss. The doctors here are practical people who have seen it all before and just want to help the neighbors.
