We spend most of our time here at the office in President Tower, right by Madhumilan Square. It’s a busy spot in South Tukoganj and you can always hear the traffic outside while we work. Our days are mostly about managing the cotton side of things. Ginning and processing isn't really a clean or quiet job, but it’s what we do. We have been at it for a while now. Some days the phones don't stop ringing because everyone wants to know about the latest loads coming in from the fields. It gets pretty dusty when we are out checking the processing units, so coming back to the office is a bit of a relief. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just some desks, old files, and a lot of talk about raw materials. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we all know how the machines act up when it gets too hot. We just try to keep things moving so the trucks can get loaded on time. It is a lot of paperwork too, more than you’d think for a business that deals with dirt and fiber. We drink a lot of tea while we look over the sheets. It isn’t glamorous work, but someone has to make sure the cotton is handled right before it goes anywhere else in the supply chain. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
