Gokuldas Hospital

Gokuldas Hospital is located on Sany Prasad Marg. The address says it twice, maybe because the street is well known or just because that's how it was written down. It is a busy hospital. There are always people coming and going through the main entrance. You see families waiting in the hallways and nurses rushing around. It’s not a quiet place. The air smells like cleaning fluid and medicine, which I guess is normal for a hospital. We have several floors and the elevators are usually full, so taking the stairs is faster if you can manage it. The paint is peeling a little bit in the corners of the waiting room. We haven't had time to fix that lately. Sany Prasad Marg is usually jammed with cars and rickshaws, so the noise from the horns comes right through the walls. We don't have a fancy cafeteria, just a small place to get some water or a quick snack. The staff has been here a long time and they know the routine. It’s a lot of hard work and long shifts for everyone. We don't try to make the place look like a hotel. It’s a hospital for people who need help. We just keep the lights on and the beds ready. Sometimes it’s stressful but that is just how it goes in this building. We’ve been part of this street for many years now. There is always someone at the desk even late at night.
