Our business, Ginni Texfabs Llp, is also found at 86 Burmese Colony. We share the space but our focus is more on the fabricated side of the textile world. It’s a practical setup we’ve got here. We have the cutting tables and the sewing stations all ready to go. The room is usually filled with the sound of scissors and machines. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a bunch of suits running around. It’s mostly just us in our work clothes, making sure the orders are filled. Burmese Colony is a familiar neighborhood for us, and being at number 86 makes it easy for our regulars to find us. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the real work happens with our hands. Sometimes we run out of thread or a needle breaks, and someone has to run out and grab supplies. It's just a normal day-to-day routine. We have some tea in the afternoon and talk about what needs to be finished by Friday. We aren't making any grand claims about our mission or anything. We just make the fabrics into what they need to be and send them out. It’s a simple way to make a living and we’re okay with that. There is always a lot to do but we take it one step at a time and keep moving.
