Gift House

You can find us in the Rampurawala Building right on M.G. Road. It is a central spot, so there is always a lot of foot traffic and people popping in to see what we have on the shelves. Gift House has been here for a bit, and we’ve seen the street change quite a bit over the years. We keep a variety of things, mostly items that people pick up when they need something for a birthday or a small celebration. It gets a bit crowded inside sometimes because we try to fit a lot in, but we like it that way. It feels lived-in. The staff here are mostly local folks who know the regulars by name. We aren't a big chain store with uniforms and scripts. We just talk to people and help them find what they are looking for, whether it's a small trinket or something a bit bigger. M.G. Road is always loud with honking and people walking by, which keeps things interesting. Sometimes we have to move boxes around just to make a path, and the lighting in the back isn't great, but it works for us. We open up early and stay until the evening rush dies down. It’s a straightforward shop. We don’t do much advertising; people usually find us just by walking past the building. We’re just happy to be part of the neighborhood and keep the doors open for whoever stops by on their way home.
