Diesel World

We are based in the Yellow Tower at Bombay Moters Chouraha. It’s right on the main road, and the Canara Bank is just a short walk away. Diesel World is exactly what it sounds like. We work on diesel engines and fuel systems all day long. The shop is usually full of that heavy smell of diesel fuel and oil. It’s a busy intersection outside, so there is constant honking and the sound of brakes. Our workshop is on the ground level, and we’ve got heavy benches bolted to the floor. Most of our work is very precise, cleaning out injectors or fixing pumps that have gunked up over time. It’s messy work, and our overalls are always stained dark. We have a small sink in the back where we try to scrub the grime off our hands at the end of the shift. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we use a lot of handheld torches to see what we are doing. It’s not a glamorous place to work, but it suits us just fine. People bring their trucks and old cars here because they know we’ve seen it all before. We don’t use any fancy computer systems for tracking things; we just write it down in a big ledger on the desk. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things, but it works for us. We just keep our heads down and get through the pile of work.
