The shop floor here in Indore at Sanwer Road Indl. Area is where everything happens for Darling Pumps Pvt. Ltd. We are located at 340/2, Tigaria Badshah, and it is a busy spot. If you walk inside, you will see pumps in various stages of being put together. There is always the sound of metal on metal and the hum of testing tanks where we check for leaks. It is a very hands-on place. We get our hands greasy and there is usually some iron dust on our clothes by the end of the day. The Indore weather can be pretty dry, so we are always glad to be around the water tanks we use for testing the equipment. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished front office. It is just a workspace where we build pumps for people who need to move water or other fluids. Some of us have been working here for years and we know these machines inside and out. The industrial area is always full of trucks and the smell of diesel, which is just part of the daily life for us. We eat our lunch together and talk about how to fix whatever machine is acting up that day. It is a straightforward job and we just focus on making sure every pump that leaves here works right before it gets loaded up.
