Chanchal Kirana Store

You can find Chanchal Kirana Store over in Vijay Nagar, specifically on Road No. 14. We are at number 11/14, which is quite close to Krishna Dairy. Being near the dairy is handy because people come there for milk and then walk over to us for their other groceries. We handle mostly kirana items, so things like rice, flour, different types of dals, and cooking spices. Vijay Nagar is a big residential area, so we see a lot of the same families every week. We have those big registers where we keep track of what people owe us if they pay monthly. It’s a very local way of doing things. The shop gets a bit cramped during the festive seasons when everyone wants extra sugar and oil for making sweets. We have a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long to keep the place cool. It’s just a normal store where we try to keep the bins full and the floor swept. Sometimes the delivery guys leave the sacks of grain right in the middle of the aisle, so you have to watch your step. It’s not a polished supermarket, just a local kirana shop where you can get your daily needs and have a quick chat about what's happening in the colony. We’ve been at this spot for several years now and we just keep the routine going for the neighbors.
