You can find the Centre For Mental Health Care & Research over at Silver Mall in the D Block area of R N T Road. Being inside a mall in Indore is a bit different for a health center, but it works out okay since people can find us without much trouble. The office is on the UB 07 level, so it is tucked away enough from the main shopping noise to keep things relatively quiet for the people coming in. We spend our days talking to people who are going through some tough times mentally or just need someone to help them figure things out. It is not just about consultations though, as we do some research work on the side, looking into different ways to understand mental health better. The rooms are plain, just chairs and desks, because we don't think you need a lot of decoration to do this kind of work. Our staff is small and we know most of our regulars by their first names. R N T Road is always packed with traffic, so we tell people to leave early if they have an appointment. Sometimes the paperwork piles up on the desks and the researchers get deep into their notes, but the main thing is just being there for the patients who walk through the door. It is a straightforward setup where we focus on what’s happening in the mind without making it feel like a cold, clinical hospital. We just go about our business day by day here in Indore.
