About Bombay Hospital – Medical & Healthcare in Indore
It's been a few years since I started coming into room 16 every morning. Being on the first floor of Bombay Hospital means you hear everything happening downstairs in the lobby, but it’s a bit quieter than the ground level. The walls are that standard off-white color you see in most older buildings around here. We spend most of our day tucked away in this specific corner of the hospital. It’s not a huge space, but it fits what we need. Sometimes the elevator takes too long so most of us just use the stairs to get up here. You get used to the rhythm of the place, the sound of the carts rolling by in the hallway and the murmur of people waiting outside. It is just a regular workspace where we get things done. We don’t have fancy decorations or anything. There’s a desk that’s been here since before I joined, and the windows look out over the main entrance area. You can see people arriving all day long. In the afternoons, the sun hits the glass in a certain way that makes it pretty hot, so we usually keep the blinds halfway down. Most of the folks working on this floor have been here for a long time, so we all know each other’s names. It’s just how it is. We keep our files organized, or try to, even when it gets really busy.
