Bakery And More is at 249 Sahakar Nagar on Cat Road. The first thing most people notice is the smell of bread or whatever we have in the oven at that moment. We get here very early, usually while it is still dark outside, to start the first batches of the day. The kitchen area takes up most of the space and it can get pretty hot once the ovens have been running for a few hours. We spend a lot of time cleaning flour off the counters and making sure the trays are ready for the next round. Sahakar Nagar is a nice area and we see a lot of people out for their morning walks. They often stop in when they smell something fresh. We don't have fancy display cases, just some simple shelves where we put out what we’ve made. The floor is tile and it’s a bit worn down in the spots where we stand the most. Sometimes we run out of certain things faster than we expected, and we have to tell people to come back later. It’s just how it goes with a small bakery. We don't use any big machines, a lot of the work is still done by hand. Cat Road can get busy during the school run or when people are heading to work. We just keep our heads down and focus on the dough. It is hard work but we are used to the long hours and the heat of the kitchen.
