Navin Furnishing is over at 110-A in Mechanic Nagar, Bhamori. It’s an area with a lot of workshops and small businesses, so there’s always some kind of work going on nearby. We deal with curtains, upholstery, and various types of fabrics for the home. When you walk in, you’ll see rolls of cloth leaning against the walls and scissors sitting on the big cutting tables. It’s not a polished retail store. It’s a place where work actually happens. We spend a lot of time measuring out lengths of fabric and making sure the patterns line up right. Sometimes a customer brings in an old chair they want to have recovered, and we have to figure out the best way to do that. The light in the shop isn't always the best, so we often take fabric samples to the door to see the real color in the sunlight. We’ve been in Mechanic Nagar for years and have a lot of regulars who just drop by to see what new rolls we’ve got in. It gets pretty dusty with all the thread and lint flying around, so we’re always sweeping up at the end of the day. It’s straightforward work that requires a bit of patience and a steady hand with the shears. We don’t use any big slogans or anything like that. We just focus on the fabric and making sure the measurements are correct for whatever the customer needs for their house.
