Our place is at 21/18 B in Freeganj. It’s a well-known part of town, so it’s easy to find. Aurum Medical Sciences is run by a small group of us who have been in this field for quite some time. The office is in an older building, so the stairs creak a bit, and the windows don't always close right. But it has a lot of character, and we like being in this part of Ujjain. We spend our days mostly on the phone or checking through the ledger books. There’s a tea stall just around the corner where we get our morning fix, and that’s usually where we discuss the plan for the day. We deal with various medical supplies and sciences-related stuff, which means there’s a lot of technical jargon on the boxes, but we just focus on the logistics. The traffic in Freeganj can be a nightmare during the festival seasons, so we have to plan our deliveries carefully. We don’t really do big advertising; most people who need us already know where we are. It’s a lot of repetitive work, like checking expiry dates and printing out shipping labels. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour or two, and we just sit around and talk until it comes back on. It’s a very human way to run a business, with all its little quirks and daily interruptions. We keep an extra flashlight in the drawer just for those moments when the lights flicker out.
