Arun Prakashan

Khajuri Bazar is a crowded place, and we are right in the thick of it at Shop No-613. Arun Prakashan has been operating from this little spot for quite some time now. If you’ve ever walked through the bazar, you know how narrow the lanes are and how much energy there is everywhere. Our shop is filled from floor to ceiling with books, and sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in a bit because we have so much stock. We don't have a lot of room for customers to sit down, so most people just stand by the counter while we look for what they need. The air in the bazar is always a bit dusty, and the noise from the street never really stops until late at night. We have an old fan that wobbles a little, but it keeps us cool enough during the summer months. Most of our day is spent packing orders or talking to people who come looking for specific educational books. We don't use any fancy computer systems for everything; a lot of our notes are still kept in paper ledgers. It's an old-school way of doing things, but it works for us. We know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone walking in for the first time. We just keep our heads down and get the books out to the schools.
