Ankur Hospital Private Limited is located out by Village Solsinda on the Indore-Ujjain Highway. If you’re driving fast, you might almost miss the turn-off because the sign is a bit small. The road is always busy with those big long-distance trucks carrying goods between the cities, so there is a lot of noise. Because we are on the highway, we get a lot of dust, so someone is always sweeping the front steps with a broom. Inside, it’s mostly quiet except for the sound of the old ceiling fans. We have a few rooms for people to stay in if they need to. The light in the hallway flickers sometimes, and we’ve been meaning to get the electrician to look at it, but things stay busy. Most of the people who come in are from Dharampuri or the smaller clusters of houses nearby. They usually come in with their families, so the waiting room gets full of kids and older folks talking. We don't have a big fancy sign, just a basic one so people know where we are. The air smells like the fields nearby, especially when they are burning the stubble after the harvest. It’s a simple setup. We have the basic machines and a small pharmacy counter that stays stocked with the essentials. It’s a long way from the big hospitals in the city, but we have what’s needed for the people around here. It gets very dark at night since there aren't many streetlights out this way, so we keep the porch light on.
