Ali Hardware

Ali Hardware is located at Shop No. 44 in Bohra Bazar. If you know Bohra Bazar, you know it can be a bit of a maze with all the different shops and people moving around. We are right there in the middle of it. Our shop is filled with all sorts of tools, nails, screws, and everything else you’d expect to find in a hardware store. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to keep a lot of stock on hand. You have to be careful where you step sometimes. We spend our days helping people find the right size of bolt or the right kind of tool for whatever they are fixing at home. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy boxes and climbing up ladders to reach the top shelves. The shop doesn't have air conditioning, so it gets quite hot in the summer, but we just keep the fan going and keep working. We don't have a fancy corporate office; our desk is just a counter where we take the cash and write out receipts. Bohra Bazar has a lot of history, and we feel like a small part of that. We know the other shopkeepers around us, and we often help each other out. It’s a basic, honest way to make a living. We just show up, open the doors, and do our best to find whatever it is our neighbors are looking for. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done.
