G. Kalpana Gown House

Our shop, G. Kalpana Gown House, sits at No. 149 in Ada Bazar. If you have ever walked through Ada Bazar, you know how packed it gets with shoppers looking for a good deal. We have gowns hanging from every available hook and rack. Sometimes it feels like the dresses are taking over the whole room. We try to keep things organized, but when a lot of people come in at once, it usually ends up with a bit of a mess that we have to clean up later in the evening. There is a small mirror in the back for people to see how things look, and the lighting isn't always the best, but we make it work. We spend a lot of time talking to folks about what they need for weddings or parties. Sometimes we have to do a bit of quick stitching if a hem is too long or a button is loose. The noise from the street outside never really stops until very late at night. We’ve been in this spot for a while, and the wooden floorboards have some creaks in them now. It is a family-run kind of feeling here, even if we are busy. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If you're looking for us, look for the bright fabrics near the corner. It's just a regular market shop doing its best every day.
