Down here in Uripok Bachaspati Leikai, things move at their own pace. We are based in Imphal West, and the office is usually filled with the sound of the ceiling fan and people arguing over site plans. It’s a pretty central location, so it’s easy for the guys to drop by after they finish up at the construction sites. We handle a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to organizing materials and making sure the labor crews have what they need. The weather here can be a real challenge for our projects, especially when the rain starts and doesn't stop for days. We spend a lot of time looking at schedules and then rewriting them when things get delayed. The office itself is functional, nothing too special to look at. We have a few old metal cabinets full of files and some maps pinned to the walls. It feels like a real working environment, not some showroom. People usually walk in with mud on their boots, and that’s perfectly fine with us. We eat our lunch at our desks most days because there’s always a report that needs finishing. Dealing with the logistics in this part of the country takes some patience, but we’ve been doing it long enough to know the shortcuts. It’s just a group of us trying to get the buildings up on time.
