Lys Cement & Steel Agency

Our place, Lys Cement & Steel Agency, is situated in Kwakeithel Makkah, right near the Police Out Post. It is a busy little corner of the world, and there is always something going on nearby. We spend our days surrounded by stacks of cement bags and bundles of steel TMT bars. It is a heavy business, quite literally. Most of the morning is spent coordinating with drivers and making sure the inventory matches what we have on paper. Sometimes the trucks arrive late because of the traffic near the outpost, and we just have to wait around and drink tea until they show up. We have a few staff members who have been with us since we started, and we all pitch in with the loading when things get backed up. It is dusty work, and there is always a layer of gray powder on everything in the office. People from the neighborhood stop by to check prices or just to chat while they are out running errands. We don't have a big fancy storefront; it is more of a functional warehouse space where utility comes first. We handle the paperwork on a small desk tucked in the corner. It is a simple life of buying and selling building materials. We know the local contractors well, and they know they can find us here six days a week, just doing our thing and keeping the supplies moving for local projects in the neighborhood.
