Legislative Assembly Manipur

The office for the Legislative Assembly Manipur is situated in Charoikhule Village, near the Loktak Project. This is in the Churachandpur District, with the pin 79524. It’s quite a journey to get out here if you’re coming from the main town. The scenery around Loktak is really something else, especially when the light hits the water in the evening. Our building in Charoikhule is fairly basic and fits in with the village surroundings. It’s not a grand government palace, just a functional place where the local administrative work gets done. We spend our days dealing with various local issues and keeping records updated. The pace of life is much slower here than in Imphal. We have a few wooden benches for visitors and a large table where we spread out the maps and papers. The air is cool because of the hills, which is a nice change from the humidity elsewhere. Sometimes the local villagers stop by just to say hello or ask a quick question. We don't have all the high-tech gadgets you might find in a city office, but we have what we need to stay busy. The road leading to the village can be a bit rough after a heavy rain, so we always keep that in mind when planning our trips. It’s a unique spot to work, right in the heart of the community. We stay until the sun starts to dip behind the peaks.
